Clinical Team

Dr. Vishal Sharma

MD MRCGP FRACGP MBA

Vishal is the Director at Seville Medical. He has had the privilege of working with some of the best medical specialists in the world during his medical training in the United Kingdom. He specialised as a General Practitioner in 2008 and acquired a wealth of experience working in General Practice and after hours service in South West England and then Australia. After becoming a General Practitioner, Vishal completed his MBA in 2012 from Warwick University in the United Kingdom. His dissertation on improving patient access in General Practice in National Health Service (NHS) in United Kingdom gave him deeper insights into how to bring the medical services to the public. He moved to Australia in early 2013. He is a vocationally registered GP and is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.

He always had a dream of offering quality medical service to his patients without the corporate red tape. He takes the concerns of his patients very seriously and thoroughly relishes the challenge of complex medical problems. He firmly believes in evidence-based medicine. He enjoys all aspects of General Practice especially chronic disease management and men’s health. Vishal enjoys travelling, cricket, soccer, cycling and most of all he thoroughly enjoys the superb coffee Melbourne has to offer.

Vishal consults from Monday through to Friday.

Dr. Ling Ming Teoh

MBBS FRACGP MMed (Skin Cancer)

We are delighted to introduce Dr. Teoh to our local community. Dr. Teoh trained in Malaysia and became a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 2010. She has more than 15 years of experience in general practice. She enjoys seeing children and women.

Dr. Teoh has also obtained a Master of Skin Cancer from University of Queensland in 2015. She performs full skin checks for skin cancer, skin biopsies, excision of moles and other minor procedures in the clinic.

She likes to go to the gym, swimming during her spare time and she is also quite good at Tai Chi. She believes in a holistic approach when dealing with patients problems and she strongly believes that good care starts with good doctor - patient relationship.

Dr.Teoh consults from Monday through to Friday.

Dr Navid Afsharipour

MD, FRACGP

We are very happy and delighted to introduce Dr Afsharipour to the local community.

Dr. Afsharipour has 10 years’ experience as a GP, the last five years being in metropolitan and rural areas in Australia. Navid is proudly Australian and his background is Persian. Navid is registered with a Medical Doctorate and has a General and Specialist Registration with the Australian Medical Council and the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (Fellowship of RACGP). He is very passionate about general practice and believes a good relationship and communication between doctor and patient, is the key factor for the best outcome of each consultation. Navid is very enthusiastic about women’s health, paediatrics and skin diseases. He also has a great knowledge of mental health and a broad working knowledge in emergency medicine. Navid enjoys seeing a wide variety of patients and enjoys using his knowledge and experience to enable the best possible outcome for each patient. Navid speaks fluent English and can facilitate consultation for those patients who speak Farsi (Persian) using their own language.

Navid enjoys listening to music and plays Bass guitar in his spare time. He also enjoys cycling on a regular basis and getting together with family and friends on weekends.

Dr. Afsharipour consults from Monday through to Friday.

Sharnie

Practice Nurse

We are delighted to introduce Sharnie to Seville Medical Centre. Sharnie has extensive nursing experience and has been working as a practice nurse for over 6 years. She can assist you with all nursing needs including immunisations, travel vaccines, wound care, health assessments, care plans and patient education. Sharnie loves to meet new people and quickly develops a great rapport with all of her patients. Sharnie has a special interest in adolescent health and her community. She spent 5 years in the CFA, has been on various school committees and has been involved in many sporting clubs and the Lions Club. Sharnie is a mother of 3, and in her spare time enjoys supporting her children with their sporting activities. She is a keen photographer and loves reading.

Sharnie is always looking to expand her skills and knowledge to enable her to provide great quality, compassionate, professional, supportive and evidence-based patient care - with a goal to achieve best possible patient outcomes.

Marika Cock

Psychotherapist

Marika is a Clinical Social Worker/Psychotherapist, Child and Family Therapist (BSW (AASW), Grad Dip CYFMH, Grad Dip FT and CCPT).

Since 2003 Marika has provided counselling to people of all ages with presenting difficulties, not limited to depression, anxiety, grief, trauma and relationship difficulties. Decisions about
appropriate and effective therapeutic procedures are based on her experienced clinical judgment and evidenced based therapeutic modalities. Marika’s favoured therapeutic approaches include Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Acceptance and Commitment Theory, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Family Systems Therapy.

As a trained Family Therapist Marika values facilitating families or couples to strengthen their interactional patterns and behaviours to enhance understanding and connectedness.

As a Play Therapist Marika works with children (age 2-10). She strives to work holistically to include their parents and family in the healing process and is a strong advocate for child/parent (Filial) Therapy to improve the quality of attachment. Marika works with children impacted by life events such as parental separation/divorce, peer/social issues, bullying, anxiety, mood and anger related issues and grief and loss that can lead to a wide range of emotional, developmental and behavioral difficulties.

Marika is eligible for Medicare rebates.

Dr. James Kim

Podiatrist

James is an experienced podiatrist with 8 years of clinical experience and has worked in different clinical settings including community health services, private practice and residential aged care facilities.

James has a special interest in diabetes and diabetic foot care and assessment, and wound management. He is currently working at a community health centre as a consultant podiatrist and an associate podiatrist at a long established podiatry clinic. He is also working at a day therapy centre which is part of a major aged care organisation in Australia.

James has rich experience with various podiatric conditions, covering general foot care, aged foot care, diabetes foot care and assessment, wound management, biomechanics, and footwear. He has a good understanding of elderly patients’ needs and is able to provide quality treatment and care for patients of all ages.

Jo Poon

Credentialed Diabetes Educator; Accredited Pharmacist

We are delighted Jo Poon has joined the Seville Medical Centre Team.

Jo graduated from Monash University in 2004 as a pharmacist and completed her diabetes educator credentialing in 2013. She has special interests in diabetes and asthma management, mindfulness, chronic illness and mental health and is currently completing her honours degree in psychology. She has worked in various settings including community pharmacy, aged care facilities and general practice. Jo also conducts home medication reviews.

Jo is originally from Vietnam but migrated to Australia in 1989 where she has grown up and studied. Jo speaks Vietnamese as a second language. She enjoys reading, listening to music, being in nature, hiking and keeping fit.

Practice Manager

Ileen has as a wealth of experience as a Practice Manager, having worked in the Melbourne metropolitan area for over 15 years. She is now loving the chance to embrace the rural lifestyle in a modern, forward thinking medical practice.

Ileen is excited to be part of the Seville Medical Team and is dedicated to ensuring that the best possible medical care and attention is delivered to all of our patients.

She is married with three boys and enjoys gardening, movies, keeping fit and catching up with family and friends.

Annie

Receptionist

Annie has worked in the Valley as a medical receptionist for over 12 years. She is very compassionate and considerate, and will greet you with a friendly smile and a helping hand. Annie loves animals, gardening and photography.

Lynn

Receptionist

We are delighted to have Lynn as part of our great team at Seville Medical Centre. Lynn will ensure you receive a warm welcome and is happy to assist you wherever possible. When Lynn is not working, she enjoys spending time with her family, including her delightful grandson.
